The 3rd Annual Capital to Coast Relay (C2C3) coming Oct. 5-6, 2012.

Leave the gorgeous city of Austin, TX                    Run 223 miles thru the Texas Countryside              Finish on the Beach in Corpus!!

2nd Annual Capital to Coast Relay was a tremendous success!!

Austin, TX -      In what was perfect weather and conditions, the 2nd Annual Capital to Coast Relay went on without a hitch.  Sunny skies and cool temps were ideal for the start at Republic Park in Austin, as 4 waves of teams took off on their journey 223 miles to Corpus Christi in the longest relay race in Texas.  Those same sunny skies were present as they ran on to the beach in Corpus Christi, to music and fanfare.   We would like to thank all the amazing teams and runners and volunteers who made this run possible.   Thanks to Mark Purnell, who was a great and fun announcer for us as always, as well as who did a terrific radio show with interviews with teams during the race.   Thanks to Pete Phillips also, who took some amazing photos all up and down the race course!  Click here to see the race photo collection.

This years teams all lowered their times, some by as many as 2 hours, including the winning team, STW Krav Maga.   They won for the 2nd consecutive year and are the only winners of the Capital 2 Coast Relay.   This team of studs (and studettes) is from San Antonio and set the new course record by finishing in 25 hours, 57 minutes. This was a 6:59 pace for the duration of the 223 miles. Results of all the teams can be seen here.

We also had some massive 'van tagging', 'guadalupe river swimming', 'wild dog chasing', and even an 'alien sighting' along the route!    It was fun to see all the teams bond and get to know each other and the runners along the way, with several teams giving water to other teams along the course, and helping each other out.  We had teams ranging from the Univ. of Texas and Abiliene Christian Univ., to Lackland AFB and Dyess AFB, and from all parts of Texas!   Special thanks to our returning teams, STW Krav Maga, Morning Woodlanders (voted best name), TBD (to be determined), Stay Thirsty My Friends, Professional Pavement Pounders, CCAD Troopers, and Oh Sh*&, I thought this was the turkey trot.  We love you guys and are excited to see you back for the 3rd Annual C2C in 2012!!

                                                    2 vans, 8- 12 teammates, 223 miles = 1 Amazing time!
